What brought you to One Life?
I was going through a rough time - dealing with menopause, body injuries and a heart disease scare. It has been about an eight-year battle trying to lose the weight. All that time I considered myself a healthy eater and then my doctor told me that I had to lose the weight to save my health.
How much weight did you lose?
I did the program for a little over two months and lost 28 pounds. I ended up reaching my goal before the holidays and even lost weight over Thanksgiving.
What made One Life different from the other weight loss places you tried?
I like the real food aspect of the diet. I was able to customize the diet to fit my lifestyle. The one on one interaction each week was key. I consistently lost weight every week and always enjoyed going to the clinic. The weekly B-12 shot made a huge difference. It gave me the energy I needed each week to exercise. I am currently coming in and doing maintenance. Everyone in the office is so positive, cheerful and fun. I have really developed great relationships with everyone. I have never experienced that with any other diet.
What has Dr. Haynes and One Life taught you about losing weight?
One Life reminded me about the importance of portion control. They gave me the tools to understand how to eat. I always know to go back to a few protein only days to re-set and stay on track. One Life taught me that whatever your weakness is - you can have it! I can stay on track and not feel deprived. I never had to give up cream in my coffee! I learned how to plan and how it was the key to my success with losing weight. I would also exercise to be able to get my extra 2 blocks - those extra two allowed me my indulgences on the diet.
Has losing the weight, helped you in other parts of your life?
Losing the weight gave me confidence again. I met the best guy ever, and I am in the best relationship I have ever been in - and I do not think any of that would have happened if it were not for One Life. Even my massage therapist could work on my injures more successfully. She could really see how well my body responded to the weight loss and could help me so much more.
Any tips or tricks that helped you out along the way to your goal?
Like I said before - planning was key. I also exercised daily - just a little, but enough to earn my extra 2 blocks a day.
What would you say to someone thinking about joining One Life?
Trust the process! Give it two weeks and you will see results. You will not feel deprived and it does not even feel like you are on a diet. One Life is based on real foods, which makes it so easy to implement into your daily life. It is not a diet but a lifestyle change, and they will give you the tools to help you succeed.
